Interesting to hear from another Opera user, I only stopped using it recently, because of performance and other (newsfeed) issues. At one point I ran 4 different browsers, all with different purposes and accounts.
So another bonus to Chrome is it will block Flash natively for you, and has a "click to play" option. Just opt in to the Flash you want. IMO it's better than No Script because you don't have to opt-in all of the java script needed to make the site 'work'.

Ghostery and Disconnect.Me are almost the same; I just prefer the latter because Ghostery has an icon that annoys me. :)

Disconnect Me will also help by loading certain popular sites over HTTPS when both options exist.

i've been using chrome the past few days... i seem to get a fair number of right clicks on hyperlinks become downloaded html files.

there doesn't seem to be short cuts to right click options (eg, copy link URL in firefox is CTR-A) so i will have to look into trying to see if someone's made a plugin to fix that...

let me try and give it a while more before deciding if it's okay for daily use - i will install all the anti-tracking plugins previously mentioned - thanks for the top tip(s)!

This is a right click on URL menu in Chrome:

So you're saying it's downloading immediately when you right click? Or that you don't see the same options?

i made a mistake... i was looking for "letter" short cuts for the right click menu...

eg. right click + A = copy link URL

haven't been able to find a plugin yet.

That's the right click menu when you click on the document, not an object or a link.

Here is another thing i found when looking for extensions for my new Opera( Sic Chrome) browser

its called ZenMate and here is a description of what it does

Here’s what you’ll get through the ZenMate VPN proxy service:
✔ Total Privacy ✔ Total Freedom ✔ Total Control
We encrypt all your browser traffic. Forget location restrictions. Access ANY website from ANYWHERE. YOU choose where any website “thinks”
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

From a site I learned from zzm

http://hackread.com/how-to-stop-faceboo ... r-history/

"how to stop Facebook from using your browser history,"
Ok, so I have two questions about this -
One is, are the instructions in that link to mimick that which NoScript, DoNotTrack, etc. do?

Also, is this to sat the FB can get all of your browser history, even those from the same tabs or window as the FB one?

I don't know much about InfoSec but that would really suck.

It's probably safer to just use Adblock extensions and Disconnect.me or Ghostery.
