Devil's advocate: Why should I care if NSA or any government-run internet nanny is doing surveillance on us? Isn't protecting against terrorism and child pornography a good thing?

Interesting to note that Google and Mozilla are part of the foray (especially the bigger Daddy Google). Not sure if it is ironic or if their participation is merely symbolic.

There is no such thing as true freedom and there is no such thing as anonymity on Internet. It was more than obvious long time before NSA and Snowden era.
