Will London do? India's Jet Airways is the cheapest with a stop over in Delhi(which is enroute) Total travel time 16H costs S$590.

Note that depending on the airline buying a return ticket may be cheaper than 1-way. It MAY also be possible to get a refund on the portion not used.

I paid 450GBP pp (return) via Frankfurt with Lufthansa with excellent connections for the in-laws last year for their travel this March. Great price or was until MIL couldn't find her passport 3 days before the flight and missed it as a result. Replacement cost 1600GBP - not claimable on insurance.

Yes, perhaps return ticket with rebate on the 2nd return leg is best option.
