Philosophical rant begins:

Friendships that have meaning and depth are far and few between, especially in this forum. I have met people once, and never seen again. I have met the same people on a regular basis, and I do consider them friends, but I wouldn't say we're that close.

To be lucky and find good friends in this forum is like finding a four leaf clover. And expats tend to be transient in Singapore, that's why meaningful friendships are difficult to get.

Thankfully I found that clover, and I have created a bunch of best friends from this forum of whom I don't think they visit this place anymore, but I still see them every weekends and I can be my wacky self with them.

Be it a serious debate or a meaningless one, we have fun with either ones.

Which begs the question...

You are a 26 year old local, correct? And I'd also assume you have been in Singapore also most of this time? Then why not hang out with your friends too? (no seriously, I wanna know. Because I've seen couple of Singaporeans here that wants to find new friends too, but I never found out their reasons on why find an expat friend...and whenever I walk around I see local school children or campus dudes and duddettes hanging about and seem to be the best of friends)

This thread would be five pages long by now if it didn't have <<Platonic>> in the subject.

Personally I would not like to meet up with a person who acted like the OP already in her 2nd post. Very bad indication for anything on the personal ground.

Yep, this "up" with completely ignoring the previous poster who IMO had some very valid points.

"up" is the local way to bump the thread.
