From what I have read in the article, Canada killed the millionaire investor immigration programme. I don't think Singapore is in the same boat, they still accept millionaire applicants.

Yeah, I think it was just more about a really easy way to PR that didn't benefit Canada. Coincidental that PRCs just suffered the most.

I dont think mainlanders are exactly queueing up to come to Singapore either
They go to Australia. Its amazing how much influence they have made in there. The businesses there have also adapted to cater to chinese tastes. There are big horse statues put up in Sydney airport to welcome chinese tourists to the year of the horse.

they used to (?) come to singapore to get SC before applying for PR/citizenships else...
many chinese work/live in australia through freshly acquired new zealand citizenships (which i assume is easier to get).
there will always be enterprising people figuring a way to game the system.
