Bug Zapper

Post by skooch » Tue, 17 Dec 2013 2:51 pm

Hi all, does anyone know where I can get a bug zapper in Singapore. I am looking for the ones that are shaped like a tennis racket and the 'strings' are electrified wire. Seems to be so many more mosquitos around at the moment.

Try the local provision store. They can also be found in sundry stores. Failing that, roam around the Rochor/Bugis area (the non-touristy spots).

They're illegal in Singapore I believe.

Let your cicaks do the work for you. Sure, they may leave a wee turd now and again for you to remember them by, but nothing zaps mozzies more effectively than a cicak tag-team.

+1

And if you're overwhelmed by Cicaks do what this guy did.

I have never seen a tennis racket shaped in Singapore but there are plenty passive (with a lamp) and active (with a lamp + fan) available. Any DIY store carry them.

Edited to add: there seem available on-line (in SIngapore). Use google.

Oh! I have one. Bought in Sg. Probably from one of the hawker markets. Can't remember now. Very satisfying watching mozzies going up in smoke.

They do. I mean you find some dead bugs after some time in the container.

There are two types. The bursting-dirty-insects-into-millions-of-microscopic-debris-floating-around-the-air electrocuting type and the ooh-the-UV-light-is-so-pretty-I-need-to-fly-nearer-and-attach-myself-to-glue-board-behind sticky type.

I personally would not recommend the electrocuting type, especially in personal space and near food.

Reminds me of "Magical Girl" anime...
