Yet another PR chance thread

Post by bubble1286 » Sat, 14 Dec 2013 12:39 am

Hi everyone, where is your crystal ball? I need it now.
After 2 rejections, I'm thinking of trying it again soon. 1st rejection came after 10months in 2009 stating that try again after 2 years. I tried again in 2012 got rejected after 2 months with no timeline given to apply again. Both of the applications I applied under PTS scheme. Salary was 3800.
My profile:
Thai, working as IT support, drawing 4200 now. Married 6 months ago to local chinese salary 4700. My wife is pregnant now and due in Feb 2014. what do you think of my chance?

Try again, after the child is born. Having a "Singaporean" child should add some points. Even more points if its a male.

Thanks Wd. I know my race is not a favored one and salary also not high. What is the main factor you think will make a difference this time?

He can but the odds of it flying aren't too good as they are going to look at the fact that she is pregnant and will wonder if she will be able to adequately sponsor him. They are loath to give PR to male spouses for some reason. So having a "family" unit opposed to a "married couple" would probably make it look better for that purpose.

Having said that, we have several on the board who are male PRs who, in at least one case, received his PR "before" coming to Singapore without any children either.

So, go ahead and apply, but do not be surprised if it is rejected in the short term.
