Well.
Will there be any email from UOB if the application was unsuccessful?

Let's see, UOB is a local bank. That means their HR department will be filled with locals. That means, considering that the majority of local HR depts suck, probably not. You will need to start calling to get an answer in all probability. A lot will depend on how high up in the food chain you are.

From my experience of giving several interviews in Singapore is that they will never ever get back to you to tell you that you are not selected. Never ever. Even if you reached like the top 2 candidates and the other one got selected. The external recruiter or internal HR will keep telling you that they still dont have any feedback. It could take even a month and after that you will give up.

I will tell you the reason why they wont tell you that you are not selected. They always want to have backup candidates. What if the No 1 person selected doesnt take the offer? Worse still, what if he takes it and doesnt show up?

I have had cases where for one whole month they didnt get back to me and finally they get back to me and call me for next round, when I had totally given up hope on it. Its a no brainer, the top guy the selected over me backed out :)

The only way to find the real status is if you know the hiring manager or someone close to him.
