Where to certify copy of passport as true copy for UK bank?

Post by suisoga » Sun, 10 Nov 2013 5:27 pm

My UK bank requires me to provide copy of my passport as true copy, together with a utility bills.

Anyone knows where I could get reasonable price to get a copy done? I had something done at the embassies but they charge ridiculous price.

UK bank said that I could get my bank in Singapore to do it but when I tried to ask Citibank to do for me, they said they cannot provide such service :(

Anyone knows Notaries where I could get this done?

Many thanks!

You could google for notaries or justice of the peace. There would be plenty. For example, I found and used one such law office in Adelphi. I couldn't remember the name though. They charged me 10 bucks, plus 2 bucks per additional page.

Which is your UK bank?

If you have a Citibank UK account (or want to open one there) their global team will give you a contact in Singapore to attest the passport.

It's Barclays.
Citibank won't do it, tried them twice. Oh well.

Reach out to the Citi at Work UK team.
They will provide you with a local Singapore contact, source: I have done it.

That's nonsense, they will. You need to (unfortunately) learn to become an obnoxious expat and insist on it... Citi confirmed my ID for another bank in Canada.
