SmartDNS and EPL football

Post by Tanuki » Sat, 05 Oct 2013 10:56 pm

Based on some of the comments in here recently, I've been experimenting with some SmartDNS companies in order to try to watch EPL online. A couple places had some trial periods at no cost so tested them, but they wouldn't work with Al Jazeera sport. Finally bought a one month service with Overplay and I was able to get in and register. However, some of the channels still show up as geoblocked. Some do work so it seems rather hit and miss.

I also tried to get the iPlayer from BBC but Overplay's system fails when trying to get to that site. So it shows as "smart failed." Hmmm

What methods have used to successfully watch EPL matches?

Cheers

TT

Are you looking for 'legal' or any method? These sites violate someone's copyright somewhere in trouble, but you won't get trouble using them. You just have to deal with substandard quality:

Tons of others just like those exist. The Roja one is nice to download an HD copy after the game if you missed it. Great for those EPL games on at 3:30am Wednesday local time.

If you want to be above board, another recommendation for MyRepublic's teleporter. You need their fiber service though:

I wasn't overly concerned about legal means, just looking to find a quality stream. In the end after banging on it awhile, I was able to get Al Jazeera's sport link to work. It should be better once I get into my own place and away from this hotel net...

I've signed up with MR for my place so will have that in the very near future, along with a much better network than I get today! \:D/

Thanks!

Hah every hotel wifi network I've tried in Singapore (admittedly not a large number) is absolute crap. Sadly you don't have many other options either.

If I was in your case, I'd just download the HD quality videos from that Roja link after the game so you can watch the whole thing uninterrupted.

From my experience in a number of places, I think you can omit the "in Singapore" and just state that hotel internet sucks. :D

Waiting patiently for the MR response to set up the installation date. Woo Hoo!
