Need recommendation for Dentist

Post by mcintst » Wed, 16 Jun 2010 5:41 pm

I've seen some scary posts when I've googled for Dentists in Singapore.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good dentist, especially near the East Coast?

and are any Dental insurance schemes better than others for an EP + wife and 2 young kids?

-Stuart.

Do a search for Q & M Dental either on this forum or Google.

I recommend Dr. Brendan Gin at SmileFocus. Aint cheap, but then again, you get what you pay for.

When I asked my friends for reccs nearly all of them recommended Smile Focus. I saw Dr Tatiana and she was very good. I was very happy. Be warned they are very expensive (in my eyes anyway). For a clean, checkup and Xrays I paid $450.

I was happy to cough it up as I hadn't been for 18 months and I was very happy with the job, but now I know my teeth are fine I'll go to a cheaper dentist next time.

Dr. Shaun Thompson at T32 Dental Centre is the only way to go.....and trust me, I've tried most of them as I have terrible teeth. He's an American dentist who listens and actually takes the time to engage in conversation to get to know you as a person. He disarmed my fears, presented me w/ a detailed treatment plan up front so there were no surprises or hidden expenses and even calls me the evening after treatment to make sure I'm feeling alright (I've had quite extensive work done with him). When I walk off the lift his receptionists greet me by name & then offer me coffee or tea to relax before my appointment. First class operation from start to finish. He's in high demand so book in advance. His email is [email protected] or you can book w/ his secretaries 6733.1388. He even has a kids clinic that's the coolest I've ever seen.

I also go to T32 Dental (after years of going to Smile Focus) - and see Dr. Sian Jenkins. She is fantastic and like previous poster mentioned - no hidden charges.

*But* - I've had several root canals done with specialist Dr. Leroy McCully at Smile Focus (do-overs of previous dodgy work) and he is amazing.

Best Dentist in Singapore

Dr. Shaun Thompson for sure... I know his wife as well and they're both great, honest people and huge assets to our expat community here.

P.S. definitely ask for the movie goggles and pick your favorite movie or tv show to pass the time

Dr Shaun Thompson (American Dentist) Now Owns Expat Dental

Post by american_newbie » Wed, 11 Sep 2013 12:42 am

Dr. Thompson finally opened up his own shop, ExpatDental.com and it totally rules!

Had to track him down as this forum is out of date. He's no longer at the old place. I found him at his new place in Novena Medical and he saved my teeth like only he can. He has American Hygienists that do real, legit cleanings, American Receptionists that actually understand what you need and I think at least two other expat dentists working for him.

Best part---- he's bring on an American Orthodontist soon! :D

I booked online via [email protected]. Don't what the phone number is but I'm sure Google does.

Ultra Highly Recommended
