This week, FNDCers, we'll be headed to the one and only standing sake bar on Boat Quay, the Juban Stand, where the delightfully refreshing shochu is guaranteed to provide heady delights. Situated beside the Singapore River, this one of a kind bar is nestled between larger establishments but manages to draw a crowd. Try the nigori -- the cloudy sake -- where the rice leavings from the sake brewing is left to continue fermenting in the brew - a slightly sweet taste that contrasts nicely with the strong rice wine. Or the standard Asahi beer.
It's all good.

Venue : The Juban Stand, 62 Boat Quay 049850
Time : 8:30pm - late
How to Get There:
1. Take the red line, the North-South line, to Raffles Place.
2. Exit to Boat Quay.
3. Head towards the pubs, through the large alcove of the UOB building.
4. Walk along the river with the pubs on your left towards the other end where the bridge is.
5. Situated somewhere 30m from one of the oldest bridge in Singapore, possibly an example of a Pratt Struss bridge, the Juban Stand with it's distinctive japanese signboard amidst the chilli crab and pubs should stand out nicely.
