This topic was about an iPhone5. There is no public exploit though, is my point. The probability that an unknown exploit that can unlock carrier locked iPhone5 exists, and the secret is being kept by a small mobile shop in Geylang, in a country where they don't even sell locked iPhones, is next to nil.x9200 wrote:Yeah, but she said they did it so either as you said through the carrier or there is already an exploit and if the later, I would expect to have it done more easily from within the jailbroken system.
There is a greater chance said shop has an in at whichever carrier the phone was locked to, or found an online source and unlocked it while she waited. If you do that though, just go find your own vendor online and do it.
My guess is she did this to an older model and it a couple of years ago.
