We just moved into our house and only have 1 bin to though normal waste away. How do recycling work here?

If you live in a condo or in HDB clusters, there will be at least one set of recycling bins (aluminium/glass, plastic, paper).

So if you're pro-recycling, you can separate your trash and carry the recyclable ones down to the common recycling bins in person, and bin them.

... but almost nobody does that. In fact you will find all sorts of other junk in the recycling bins.
I suspect that reducing waste isn't really encouraged here because they need all the garbage they can get for land reclamation. Almost all of Jurong Island was landfill. If Singapore continues at the current rate, it will be as big as the USA in 10000 years. Please help making Singapore a great nation by throwing away as much as you can!
