Storm coming in!

Post by JR8 » Tue, 25 Jun 2013 2:53 pm

'Heads down, this is going to be a big one!'

My internal barometer (a head-tweak) has dropped of a cliff. And one minute ago was 'the wind before the storm'...

Let's pray for some most welcome rain!!

And it has been hailing. My god, never thought it could. Could this be from cloud seeding that has been going on?

AMK is pitch black and the window is blowing, but I've only seen a few very rare scattered rain drops. I was driving at lunch and counted 5 on my windshield, then it stopped.

Back in 2008 we had 'em Bishan, AMK and surrounds about the size of a five cent piece.

I remember driving around in the Mid-west (US) and seeing some cars absolutely pock-marked with dents (like 'car acne'), 5000 dings all over.

Mid-west (OH/IL)/East US (NYC down to Virginia) is the only place I've seen this...

Must be serious though, to cause such damage.

You can get amazing deals on hail damaged cars I those regions. Insurance companies usually write off the whole car.

Yep, spent a large chunk of my life on the northeastern seaboard.

More like acne-scarred. The kind of girl where her skin is bumpy from terrible teenage acne, but she can cover it up alright except in bright daylight.

Acne would be more like this:

back to original topic, a thread on Facebook started by some locals about the rain and hail almost immediately devovled into a " window crack can claim insurance ?" and blame Indo for cloud seeding discussion.

It was just drizzle down town. Disappointing. It did look like it was going to be so much more.

This is something I've not noticed since I was last in SG a few years back: Here I get real physical triggers/flags on the weather.

I.e. I really feel/know in my head when a storm is coming in. I think it must be due to heavy/sudden changes in barometric pressure.

- Nothing anything like this happens to me back home. But I expect it's a thing farmers and shepherds are more attuned to...
