The article is taking what happens way out of context, at least for one of the companies listed. It is not nearly as sinister as you may be lead to assume.

Yes, Verizon sends all of the call logs to the NSA for data mining. This is old news though. Some Senators unofficially confirmed it a couple years ago. Haven't you ever watched Law and Order? Where Stabler or someone pulls the "LUDS" from a suspect because they can do that without a warrant? Old news.

Sure, if I do end up going would be interested to know more.

I still of the opinion that none of us will ever really know how much of our data is in the wild

While I think that this is not uncommon, I have to wonder if the woman I heard say that is the same person. Can't remember now though, but it wasn't that long ago, and was here.
