Can anyone recommend a Family Doctor?

Post by MuzzaNZ » Sun, 03 Mar 2013 11:38 am

We have just moved to Singapore and are living in the Upper East Coast area. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good doctor and also if you could tell me if you need a separate doctor for children.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you :)

in singapore you generally use a family doctor for your kids also. visiting a ped would be quite expensive and referred to only when the child has specific problems a GP can't handle. most singapore family physicians are trained/able to treat children.

singapore peds don't usually handle walk-ins and you may have to wait (for weeks sometimes) to see the specialist. GPs' doors are always wide open the wait is usually < 30m depending on the day/peak periods (eg, monday mornings).

as for a "good" GP... your mileage may vary. good luck and welcome to singapore.

Hi, I would strongly reccomend to you Dr Tan See Lin located in Paragon. She is a very caring doctor and despite me visiting her to get some prescription to purchase champix (a medication to quite smoking), she took the extra effort to educate me on the things I need to do besides taking the medication (e.g. excercising etc.)

Its a really enjoyable time to sit down with her and talk to her. She is my family doctor now.

The website is: http://www.pachealthmedical.com/drtanseelin.php

Hope you are happy with her!!! have a great time ahead.
