Social Visit Pass after expiration of Employment Pass

Post by adventureworks » Wed, 17 Apr 2013 10:42 am

Hi,

My Employment Pass for my current job is expiring this weekend.

However, I already have my new pass application approved for another company.

Will I get a 1 month social visit pass automatically after the expiration of my current pass? What's the process of it.. Like where should I surrender my pass and get my social visit pass..

Thanks for your help.

if you searched in this forum, you may have found the answers

However, just for you ..

Your employer will cancel the EP and at the same time, they will get an Electronic SVP - which is your SVP

How big is your employer btw ?

It's just a small company. We're 12 currently in the office including the boss.

Apparently, he doesn't know also..

So you're saying he should cancel the pass? And where will I surrender my IC?

as I said before, once the cancellation is done by Employer, online, MOM will issue a 30 day SVP, in soft copy, so you just need to print it and keep it with you ... and from what I know, that is the current process.

I don't know how it is for manual cancellation .. if such an option exists now

for reference of those who might encounter the same issue in the future.

the advises here were right. the employer will have to cancel your pass on or before the expiration date and you should get a social visit pass automatically.

in case, the employer did not cancel your pass. i believe there is another option, just go to MOM.

but just remember that the last day of cancellation is on the expiration of your pass it should not go further than that. you'll already be overstaying in that case.

thanks all for your replies.

take care.
