Maybe try one of the French associations etc. You might find a family happy to put you up for a few months, unofficially of course.

Ok, I know some French associations but I'd rather find an English speaking family - do you know some associations I could approach?

i guess easiest way for u is to check with your classmate whether they are willing to share rooms with you for a couple of months and u pay them an amount in return ...
