I though he is Russian.

Sergiei is Russian but OSOD says he's Ukrainian. I am married to a Polish wife.

Anyway,

Maybe that is why girls give him preference? European girls are more likely to be with European guys. How many white girls do you see with non-white guys on a street? Not so often. Zero chances.
You would be surprised. Of course living in a small village mentality environment will not help but saying that in general the girls are religious and conservative and because of this they will reject a dark skin guy is a gross misunderstanding. The new generation of educated, young people is practically openly anticlerical thanks to the way Polish Church manages their herds and themselves.

Yeah, but this is not the whole city. Wroclaw is ca 2x smaller than SG as per city area.
More fun in Singapore? Maybe. I would have more fun here perhaps but I am not a club/pub animal and just by comparing the choice of beer and other alc. beverages in Wroclaw with what SG can offer, SG stands IMHO no chance. Not to mention the prices.

It's all very confusing and I suspect OSOD could be Russian-Ukrainian himself.
(oh, c'man, I'am joking)

(apologies to X9200 in advance)
I don't think it is Wroclaw. It is likely Warsaw.

Guys, I'm not to much into debates anymore, but I will tell you that I'm okay to downgrade my income by 20-30% and move to Poland from Singapore. Give me an offer!

Here, from Singapore, by night bus where can you go? To Thailand, right?
From Poland you may go almost to any country in Europe.

A village refers to it's amenities.

Almaty is where Borat is supposed to be set is a lovely city, the nicest one in the Caspian. Not surprised the Kazakhs were offended.

As I remember, it was in Georgia - hard to say that it belongs to Europe
You remember wrong. I posted a link showing where it was filmed - two locations in Romania.

Malaysia can. Not too sure I'd want to take a bus through southern Thailand bordering Malaysia right now.

And why would you bus around Europe when you can take a train?

You may take a train, but in some countries it may be expensive.
There is also Ryanair airline, much cheaper than JetStar or AirAsia here: you may travel just for 10$.

Or Salford, or Bradford, or Gateshead, or the wrong end of Glasgow, Bristol, Croydon, or Liverpool. But it comes down to how you define 'slum' is it in relative or absolute terms?

p.s. Coincidentally I was in the advanced stages of planning a long w/e to Wroclaw (pron: roughly as 'Breslaur') when health issues intervened, and we never got to go. It really sounds great, like a Prague but with the commercialism-clock wound back 30 years. Plus the Poles are generally such straight-up friendly people. I even had the transport and hotel all decided :-P. Ah well, we WILL get there one day I have no doubt!

And those headline 'from $10' fares are to sucker-in people. Do you think they're going to fill an A320 to capacity, 180 people, and make a flight, any flight, for $1800? No of course not. Ryanair's whole pricing model is designed to sucker-in people and then fleece them. Classic bait and switch. Every single aspect of what might be considered part of a normal air journey is charged at a premium.

IME, and I have only flown them once, it's just not worth the time going through all the motions of booking a flight to finally discover your $20 advertised fare, ends up being $250 and that it would have cost you less via a one-click and quality airline. Plus of course the kind of people who do fly Ryanair (in my limited experience) are kiasu idiots. So when you have things like unallocated seating, you can imagine what a hoot boarding and seating is! It is utter chaos - you might well end up not adjacent to or even near your friends and family members. Taking your own food and snacks is banned. You are obliged to buy their days old hideous offerings at 3* any comparatively reasonable price, served up by some obese, vacant, ugly but cheap to hire chav. But of course people try and bring their own F+B, it's all a part of the same mentality Ryanair itself promotes, that of 'getting one over'.

Never again!

I have a funny story about going for kebabs in a place called Stoke Newie. Not sure how it compares to those places though.

And don't forget awesome landing taxes aren't including in those $20 tickets. No idea what it's like in the EU, but I bought tickets to Vietnam today. Total price, 8 million VND. 3 million for the ticket, 5 million for 'taxes and surcharges'. (1 mil = ~$60 SGD) It's really crazy.

And yeah, budget airlines are terrible. I always fly a real airline unless it's more than twice as much after all of the budget fees/etc are added up. And even then, I think about it.
