One of my favourite bits of dialogue from one of my all-time favourite movies:

Blues Brothers - Rollers
Be careful what you wish for

Not so much the dialogue itself of course, but the setting...

Vincent: You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?

Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese?

Vincent: They got the metric system, they wouldn't know what the f**k a Quarter Pounder is.

Jules: What'd they call it?

Vincent: They call it a Royale with Cheese.

Jules: Royale with Cheese. What'd they call a Big Mac?

Vincent: Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it Le Big Mac.

Jules: Le Big Mac. What do they call a Whopper?

Vincent: I dunno, I didn't go into a Burger King.
Be careful what you wish for

Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry.

I'm getting a kind of strange deja va with Eagle's line, as it is mixed into a 90s house track I have or once had...

p.s. Edit.... Correction! It's 'Civil War' by Guns n Roses.

Julia Roberts to Hugh Grant in 'Notting Hill'.

Image

That was filmed very near where I lived back then, plus I have a signed copy (by Richard Curtis, the writer) of the bound script.

IIRC the scene takes place within 'the bookshop', which was modelled on the well known 'Blenheim Books' on the Blenheim Road/Portobello Road. But as that bookshop is an ongoing business in real-life, they let an empty retail unit (on Portobello Road, 100M away, an ex antiques shop) and decked it out like Blenheim books.

A friend on an adjacent square left home one summer morning during shooting, to find her car covered in artificial snow. IIRC that was part of the 'all the year's changing seasons represented in 20 seconds [symbolising passing of time]' scene.

Sorry to slam-dunk that one. Do try again!

Police Academy 4. Captain Harris is sat at his desk and his sidekick, Proctor, starts messing with the newtons cradle in his room.

Harris: "Don't touch those! Don't you ever touch my balls without asking"!
