9 Days is Singapore, 4 days with a car....Where to go.

Hello all,

I have been researching through the tourism section of the forum and have come up with some great ideas of where to take the kids (10 & 13) during our stay in SG.

I have now got a car for four days and I am wishing to head over to Malaysia for a quick look also. One thing that I am really interested in seeing if possible is really old temples (the ones that are made of stone etc and are tourist attractions only). All I can find is the temples in and around Johor Bahru that are still functional so to speak. Can anyone tell me if there is something like I am looking for in South Malaysia.

I do not want to drive too far. To me, too far is more than thirty minute drive to destination. If it is really cool, I might be able to sweet talk the boss (wife) to go further. I really want to give the kids a bit of history culture outside of Australia.

Thanks all for reading this and thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Cheers

If you are heading to Malaysia and have time, definitely check out Penang. The food is awesome and they have a UNESCO site called Georgetown. Really cool place.

NPark have a lot of options like Sungai Buloh, Chek Jawa, and a lot ..

Just look at their website

Some sites that not many would have seen or know they exist ..

Ford Motor Company (WW2)
Fort Canning (WW2)
Changi Prison Museaum / Chapel (WW2)
The Large Malaya Guns at Changi Prison
Tiong Bahru WW2 Shelter
Labrador Park battle park ..
As a project locate the memorial for the Sook Ching Massacre ;)

These can occupy you for a day or so ..

Malacca, which is 3 hours' drive from Singapore, is also another UNESCA Heritage Site, which boasts of historical sites from Portuguese settlement.
