5 yrs Singapore PR wants to convert to Citizenship

Hi Gurus,

I'd like to apply for Singapore Citizenship next yr Jan or Feb, i'd like to seek your advice and comments on what's the chances like for the application to be successful. Kindly also share with me your experience in applying Singapore Citizenship. Below is some of my personal info:

- Currently holding China Passport
- Singapore PR since July 2007
- Have been living in Singapore (renting a room) since Oct 1999
- Studied in one of Independent Sch for 4 yrs secondary study
- Studied in local Polytechnic
- Gotten my PR after poly and move on to enter SIM to complete my IT degree
- 1st job in an local SME (IT industry) for 1.5 yrs
- 2nd job in an local large IT company (more than 5000 staff) for 2 yrs and on going.
- current salary less than 3500SGD.

Recently I attended orientation learning journey for new citizens.
They have this orientation package with 3 components which must be completed b4 formal citizen approval is granted.

My observation shows more than 80% are chinese, of which mainly from China & Malaysia.

Given their rhetoric about getting pr's to take up citizenship and your time here I suggest give it a try. Seriously - no one here knows what the answer is. But we'd be glad to hear the results of your endevours.

Yes, i understand that. However, i just wanna hear more suggestion/advice or experiences . Im sure some ppl in this forum must have gone thru all this or maybe has helped or heard someone else in whatsoever way in the citizenship application. Anyway, thanks for your wish !

Frankly, I don't think you'll find such people on this board. On top of this, it will be somebody's individual experience at a specific point of time and ICA judges everybody on her/his own merits.

Hi Guys,

I'd like to share with you that my application has been approved. I submitted all the documents on mid Oct 2012 and i got the approval-in-principle letter yesterday...

calvin: singapore's made up of immigrants. the natives are indigenous malay orangs (or something along that line).

if they aren't complaining, you shouldn't either.
