Fully/partially furnished rented apartments

Post by Gbrooks » Fri, 08 Feb 2013 4:58 pm

Hi, does anyone know what is included in fully and partially furnished apartments/condos. I'm aware that this may vary from one place or another but just want to get a rough idea. Many thanks[/u]

Fully furnished means all necessary furniture, appliances and non-personal movable items.
Partially furnished mean not all of the above, and can range from just lights and kitchen appliances to everything but (e.g.) the bed.

In UK tax law:

For an apartment to be considered part-furnished (and eligible for the tax deduction), a tenant needs to able to walk into the unit of day#1 and 'sit, sup, and sleep'

This typically requires the landlord to provide:
- Sofa, armchairs
- Dining table and chairs
- Bed/s

Fully furnished would cover the above, plus everything else down to the tea-spoons.

That's UK law (which does have quite a lot of cross-over to SG), but will give you a general idea.
