I doubt this would match your expected bonus in your current job but it will take the sting out of it. You just need to be smart with your negotiations..

That was back in the good old days. These days 0s for bonus is very common in banks. All banks are doing that so it's not like you can get angry and quit, who is going to take you on? Read some articles in efinancialscareers for a reality check.

This final article in particular has interesting reference to Singapore

The bank says there is scope for transferring another 8,000 full time positions out of London, Hong Kong and Singapore to more ‘cost-effective’ locations.

And .. I am sure every contract has a little note on dereliction of duties

This is true.

BUT... JPM paid you on the 15th of the month for the current month. Two weeks in arrears, two weeks in advance. I left 31st Jan. Imagine my surprise than on the 15th of February I had received one months pay! :D

My ex-manager called me and said be had forgotten to inform HR that I'd left and could I receive return the payment. I said 'you must be joking mate, its not quite the bonus you didn't pay me, and you have to ask that belgian stripper anyway... she has it now" (not really, but I withdrew it all from my account immediately.

Anyway, I don't use them as a reference anyway. And strangely enough they've contacted me to see if I want to come back... yeah ...right...

I just resigned. Will miss the bonus but I realize that for all these years, I've been sucking it up for bonuses and I'm not any happier because of that. Boss thinks he has a hold on us because of the upcoming bonuses and his abuses towards the team have become even worse recently. I just booked a flight to Phuket :D

Well you have my admiration for not doing the 'sensible' thing and for following your gut instincts. If you haven't already read it, may I suggest The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss as a travel companion? It's an old work now, but it may be useful for you while contemplating your next move. You're probably more than half way there already.

Good luck and please keep us updated.

Not sure if I read about this on here, or somewhere else, but some guy outsourced his job to India, in fact he had like 4-5 jobs which he outsourced to India... he was on USD100k + and did nothing.
