Where can I get nice home furnishing/ accessories in SG

Post by mremilnw1980 » Tue, 01 Jan 2013 9:52 pm

Hi everyone.
Where can I get nice beautiful home things in Singapore?
I have been to Great World City and Parkmall. They have nice furniture; but expensive and bulky.

You can also try Art Friend if you are creative and into creating your own art piece.

The Art Friend site is crippled and there is not a lot of info.
What exactly do they do and how they can be used for creating furniture?
Are they still alive in SG at all?

Art Friend is an handicraft shop, so it sells anything ranging from painting canvas, paper, sewing stuff, etc. Depending on how wide is your imagination, the sky is the limit on what you can do or create.

I will get some ideas from furniture shops and see if I can re-create something myself. It can be as simple as something like a hanging room divider made from snow flakes sticking together to painting on canvas. You can also get some basic furniture from IKEA and paint them in a color scheme that matches the apartment.

If you are into painting, there is another art shop across National Library near Bras Basah (can't remember the name but its not hard to find if you just cross the road, its facing the main road).

So they just paint on furniture?
If I design a very specific piece of furniture that I need, can they manufacture it? :)

No, you can build it with raw materials. They have small parts that you can use to construct your own (if its not a big piece of furniture).

And you have to paint it yourself. They sells all the different type of painting materials. That is the concept of DIY (Do It Yourself). :D

Looks like my expectations do not meet with reality well. :)

Spammer.

Though perhaps I am just overly suspicious.

No you're not. I thought the same thing last night when it was posted. But, as it's a local IP address, I though I'd wait and see what developed..... but it's being watched.
