Agree, it's not a big deal to jog shirtless, as long as the other half is covered! ;p

Jogging Shirtless

Post by Galactophagist » Mon, 12 Mar 2012 5:23 pm

Wear a singlet, mate. You'll hardly know the difference. The people you offend- little old ladies, housewives, children trying to understand the world- will never say anything to you. You won't be really any warmer, and you'll actually feel better knowing you haven't offended anyone. :)

I think it bothers some people, but only to the extent that they will take extra notice of you. I don't think anyone is offended by it. I've lived in HDB housing estates my whole life and seen plenty of young men and ah peks (old men) alike, jogging or walking about shirtless. Even riding their bicycles shirtless.

I think it's fine. Security is never going to stop you for that. (Well unless some aunties complain) If you still don't feel comfortable, get a loose singlet. That's pretty common too.

I think its perfectly ok especially on the NUS campus. But try to do it after lessons in the evening if not you'll definitely get alot of stares.

Alright, I had this same question as I'm moving to Singapore pretty soon.

What if you have some fairly treacherous looking tattoos as well? Dare I add... And long hair too?

Just trying to get a sense for how this would go over. From reading the above, I'll probably end up running in a shirt just to respect the culture if it's even a remote possibility that I'd get stopped. the tattoos aren't visible in a normal short sleeved shirt.

Tattoos are everywhere here. Shouldn't be a real problem.

I think its fine, so many guys run without their shirt early morning and late evening.
Dont think its indecent in anyway.
