Is the degree the typical Myanmar "Distance Learning" degree? If it is, don't hold your breath.

No. both are not graduated from "University of Distance Education".

Main applicant got Degree from Yangon Technological University (Formerly known as Rangoon Institute of Technology RIT). Besides, got the Computing Degree from London Guildhall University.

I'd say possible. But it's going to be iffy. Not too much info on Myanmar success rates with PR. I've got one in my office but she got her's a year before the GE. Her sisters, who also work with me, both were not successful. The only thing I think that might carry you is that you are ethnic Chinese. But again. I be afraid to say anything more positive.

Good Luck, though.

Hi Guru JR8,

Although the degree is from UK, the teaching institution is in Yangon, Myanmar.

By the way, the main applicant got PMP recently. Should be informed this to ICA? Please advise.

Thank you.

Yes, PMP certification is good. I think would be a good idea. It can't hurt!

Don't start worrying until it is over a year.

I waited seven months for mine to come through.

I believe they assess, in order of importance, the following :

- time spent in Singapore;
- race;
- qualifications;
- salary;
- type of work; and
- age

Congrats! My wait will turn 7 months on the 29th of this month. Its been so long and things(both my job situation, my outlook towards my life here and the PR benefits) have turned completely upside down between the time I applied and now, that I have now forgotten why did I apply for PR in the first place and now I am wondering how much of a benefit or loss it is going to be if I do get it. :?
