Competitive TAX-FREE salary of USD 1579 (inclusive flying pay) + meal allowances (location specific during layovers).

Saw this on their website. Is it true that the salary is this low?

That's the minimum, about 60hrs of flying/month (lots of days off i supposed). Sometimes the flying hrs can hit up to 80-100hrs depending on ur roster... Can swap ur days off for longer flights too. Accommodation, laundry, transport, free land line calls, utilities..etc. are included... So it's not too bad? Gain overseas and travel experience too for cabin crew wannabes... Kinda worth it... 1 of my ex QR friend earns $3k+/month as s junior crew.. So the $ that was stated on the website is not accurate.. Same goes for emirates. But EK is not as strict as QR. There are pros/cons in every company... :)

Thanks for your info. I got shocked initially because the amount stated already included allowances. I think I'm going to give it a try But it's weird that their walk-in falls on a weekday.

You have any idea how many times we get to fly back to our own country each month and the amount of layovers?.

I read the post earlier, someone said that you'll need to be trained on a B777 a/c and get the license to be able to have singapore flts coz doha-singapore QR uses the B777 a/c. Once you're trained and have a valid B777 license, you can swap your rostered flt for sin flights with other crew member. And i'm certain that can swap for days off and fly back for a few days as a 'passenger' using discounted tickets (id900/id50). And not forgetting the 30 days annual leave you're entitled to. You just need to apply an exit permit from the company.

Yea it falls on a weekday! :( Weekends would be much better though...
