Confronting a troll in real life

Post by nakatago » Tue, 25 Sep 2012 1:57 pm

I wonder how our trolls here would react if we did indeed confront them in real life.

Especially that some of our regulars are big, burly men who the average Asian doesn't to meet in a dark alley outside of Singapore. Or that some of our regulars know people in law enforcement.

I'm surprised that the authorities haven't taken action against some of the more offensive local trolls who post their ridiculous anti-foreigner vitriol. It can't be good for the country's image (something that is normally deemed important by the government) and I would have expected to see a few well-publicised prosecutions by now, to set an example and a warning to others.

Or maybe they have (I don't often read the BCL).

Believe it or not, there is a right to free speech in Singapore's constitution. That would be a problem to overcome for a start.
Now I'm called PNGMK

Sure, but are there not are also laws against actions deemed to be detrimental to 'social harmony', etc.?

Where do folks find the spare time to chase each other around the internet? Or are they all independently wealthy?
