What Is It Worth?

Post by Strong Eagle » Wed, 12 Sep 2012 10:50 pm

Folks, not advertising, will not respond to inquiries, and will post in classifieds.

I've been to a dozen websites and I cannot find anything to give me a reasonable price point for a used laptop.

Hardware wise, it's an HP DV6-3011 TX, a 15 inch screen with second gen I7, 4 gigs of memory, ATI graphics, and a 500 gig disk.

Software wise, it comes with Win 7, 64 bit professional, Office 2007 Pro, Visio 2003 Pro, MS Project Standard 2003, all legal, legit, and with CD's.

The thing is a little more than 2 years old. I can't figure out what it's worth. On EBay, most of the stuff is based in the USA, from S$200 (way too low) to new stuff in the S$2K range.

Yes, the PC is older but current technology, and the software cost more than S$2000 to purchase... so... to all the experts out there... what's it worth?

Thanks.

Especially in Singapore, the 'legit' factor of the used software has no value. Sorry :(

For a laptop of that type the key factors will probably be the screen resolution and the type of video card. Not just ATI, but which model, how much memory, etc. Basically, how good is it for gaming?

Assuming a decent resolution (1440x900 or better) and a card that was good for gaming two years ago, I'd guesstimate S$400-500.

I'd have to agree with zzm on this one SE, in the UK I'd not be expecting more than S$500, but, as the market is different in Singapore, personally I'd advertise it at $1200 cause you are bound to get massive low ballers.

I wish I'd known 2 weeks ago, I would have taken it off you, just bought a new Desktop last week.
