Why is the Circle line not a circle? Did someone forget to build the section between Harbourfront and Marina Bay?

Why not Yellow Line? Even if it sounds strange, they can pick another name, like, perhaps, Lemon Line :P

The Ministry of Transport has not ruled out closing this 'missing link', but is now taking a 'wait and see' approach. It said: 'We have to assess whether there's sufficient ridership to justify such a direct linkage, as there are already alternatives now through the current rail network.'

I think maybe it's not necessary (circle line between Harbourfront and Marina Bay)
There's some bus route -(between Harbourfront and Marina Bay) ... bus 97

I take the 97 and due to traffic, travel times can vary. The sooner they join up the circle line, the better!

Just went to Gardens by the Way and tried going to Esplanade from Bayfront. I found out why it's the circle line...if you fail to see the board (which doesn't show the pertinent info right away) in Promenade station and end up rushing to the train, you'll end up going around in circles. It's an easy mistake to make if you're in a hurry.

Bayfront -> Promenade
Promenade only has one side for trains and it can have either a train back to Bayfront or to Esplanade

That's why it's called the circle line.

This almost sounds like a riddle or some kind of zen question.

Haha, that's a good one. Anyone had bad encounters on trains anyway?

Ah yes, indeed. I was on the Yamanote Line not so long ago. The compression factor was certainly high, but it was so refreshing to see the efficient, polite queuing system at the stations though. I kept saying to myself, "There, look - what's so hard about that?" with thoughts of our MRT here.

I never go to Japan, but based on the mangas, I start to think that it's a perfect place for Yokozuna to train :P
