I believe Nat is pulling your leg. In any event, liquid or gel filled implants are incompressible and not not subject to volume change. If they were filled with a gas then,

Gas theory: PV = nrT or

(P1*V1)/T1 = (P2*V2)/T2

Which basically enables you to compute the new state of a gas based upon changes in pressure, volume, or temperature. If you cut the pressure in half, the volume of gas will double.
I was referring to the explanation by x9200 actually.
Yep, I used the above equations (Boyle's law) assuming non-adiabatic conditions /T1=T2/ :)

Yeah, but it's Airbus, which according to our resident aeronautical expert IOP is not as safe as Boeing :P
Be careful what you wish for

I just can't help feel a little angsty when I take off and land! I still love it and if I am in Business I tend to take my preflight Champers to ensure it's not so bad ;)
nutnut, there is something extremely nice and relaxing for people like you in the SIA's A380 inflight entertainment system. I do not recall the exact name of it now, but it's like an interactive "crash course" (no pun intended... or just a little bit) in flying; they detail the reasons for turbulence, noise, pressure changes, etc. Really good program that helped me overcome my stress of flying 12+ hours in the A380 !

Great, I will be flying on the A380 soon again, so I will bear that in mind :)

If you really want to overcome your fear of flying, go take a couple of flying lessons. You'll learn all about aircraft flight and systems, and you'll fly one yourself... knowing then exactly what it takes to fly it.
