Come on mate! Have you read the forum at all? How long is a piece of string?

Where do you want to live? Do you need a car? What kind of school do you want your kid to go to (local or international), what kind of lifestyle do you expect?

I am getting tired of people who ask sweeping questions and provide very little information to work from, I am tempted just to tell you to rent a 3 bed condo in the Marc and send your daughter to Tanglin and accept thing less, but 145K would be a little short for that unless you lived of a bowl of rice a day and kept the lights turned off!

Congrats on the offer, I hope you are more intelligent in work than on this forum.

So that SGD145k is actually annual or just the first month alone?

Sorry, but your question is way too general. And we know nothing about you in person so it is very hard for us to advice on things as subjective as this. Nutnut is just coming from a short end.

How about you work out on finer details first and then come back to us if you have specific questions?

First, work out on where exactly are you working/staying? Wife working or not? Daughter's education requirement (100% Indian curriculum or international or local)? Etc etc etc...

The search function up there will reveal many specific discussion towards your questions. Good luck.

Housing at least $3.5K per month plus utilities, cable, internet, etc
International schools are $25,000/yr
Forget having a car - minimum $60,000 plus annual fees
Taxes at 10%+ or $$15k based on your salary
Food at $500/month

That comes to $90,000.

You can get by. But you won't live all that well in what is an expensive city.

IF she can get a job. Do NOT factor that into your decisions as that is an unknown variable that may or may not happen, regardless of what one might think is right or that feeling of "entitlement" that so many expats from certain ethnic groups seem to have. In Singapore it has a way of kicking you in the teeth when you aren't looking. Make all your decisions based on your income alone and you will be fine.
