Dr. Prinya - Hat Yai/Thailand

Post by krispy » Wed, 25 Apr 2012 9:33 am

Hi everyone, I just wanted to start this thread for people who has been to Dr. Prinya for ANY Cosmetic Surgery to share their experiences. I give up trying to get a slot with Dr. Nara. And Dr. Chi is in and out of Hat Yai, I have emailed him and he has mentioned that if price is not a factor to book with him at the Hospital he currently work at. Well, money does not come easily for me and I choose to have my surgery done in Hat Yai. The low price the doctors are charging in Hat Yai is mainly due to the low cost of living in the region, it has NOTHING to do with their lack of skills, trainings or experience.

I have researched for many years and read many threads about Cosmetic Surgery in Thailand. In 2010 I decided to go through with my first Plastic Surgery. I was scared just like everybody else about travelling alone, getting robbed, murdered or maybe dying at the clinic in the middle of surgery, worst of all I thought "what if I end up looking worst than before?". Anyways I arrived in Bangkok during that Red shirt, Yellow shirt protest. At the time the King has declared that the whole country be put on a curfew so basically if you are found outside after 8pm I think, "they" will shoot you

Believe it or not I was not scared of that whole situation with the protester and government, I was more concern with my surgery going wrong. Well I arrived at 11pm so I had to wait until morning to catch the Airport Express to the Rail Train Station. The cost is 150bht alot cheaper than a taxi. You can take it to Khaosan Rd and other main places as well just go check the schedule if you arrive by Air.

Hat Yai is a very small town, no crimes (not that I know off) friendly people, cheap shopping place especially at the Weekend Market Place.
I bought clothes for 100-200bht. You don't need to pack much with you, everything can be purchased for cheap. I spent alot of time in the mall because I go use the internet plus it's AC :D

I had surgery done with Dr Nara, very nice, patient, professional man. I had liposuction done I was told to watch what I eat and to diet. When your in Thailand and the food is cheap and delicious it's hard to say No to your stomach and taste buds. I wanted to try everything and I mean everything. Liposuction makes you swollen. But after 3 months you see the actual result. Its now 2012 and am headed back to Hat Yai for Surgery again. I put on weight and it went to other places like when I use to gain weight it went to my lower body now when I gain weight I gain it in my upper body like my arms are fat, my face as well and my breasts (that I like) 8-)

If you want something extreme don't go to Dr Nara, he likes that 'natural' look. He suck alot of fat out but I wished he sucked out more. Dr. Putt does Liposuction but its the old way and you spend a night in the hospital, I was told by somebody who had their breast done by Dr. Putt and she said he did a very good job. I was also told Dr. Prinya liposuction skills is good, he takes alot of fat out (that I like). I was told Dr. Chi did a good job on Tummy Tuck, Breast Augmentation and skillful in the face.

Don't get surgery done based on what you read or heard. Use that information and go meet the Dr. and talk with the Dr. If he rushes you in the consultation room, chances are he might rush in the surgery room. When I met with Dr Nara, I spoke with the patients in the waiting room, and looked at some of the treatments that he did (he has a book in his office with pictures of his patients) and i spoke with his nurses as well. In my point of view if everybody I meet is nice to me and addresses some of my concerns chances are if something is to happen I will know they will be kind enough to help me and are concern with my well being.

There is 4 doctors in Hat Yai that I know of, I have heard good and bad things about each I don't based my choice on that, I believe not everybody is perfect, doctors are human and they may make one or two mistakes, I have not heard of these 4 doctors making that same mistake twice.

I am planning my trip and surgery and hoping to get it done by July. Am planning on staying there long so I can recover safely in case of any complications. I want to get liposuction and breast augmentation am considering Dr. Prinya because I can have both procedures done with the same doctor. I think Dr. Nara and Dr. Chi does Saline only. I forget which doctor ran out of Silicone, but am hoping to get Silicone because it has a much more natural feel. I would consider Dr Putt but he doesn't do the tumescent liposuction. Am really considering Dr. Prinya but not many people went to him or talked about him on the forum. I want to know that Dr Prinya is experienced because that is my first priority when choosing a doctor.

If anybody has experience with him please post. I will post some more information on this thread up until my surgery and after post op.

Thanks in advance :)

Car Bombings in Hat Yai

Post by krispy » Thu, 26 Apr 2012 2:55 am

Hi it just came to my attention and this is disturbing news to me, there has been numerous car bombings and it happened right by where I use to eat at when I was in Hat Yai in 2010.

April 01, 2012:

According to a report on the BBC news site:
"Thai officials said another explosion on Saturday - at a hotel in the city of Hat Yai, Songkhla province - was due to a gas leak and unrelated to the attacks, the Associated Press news agency reported."
Three deadly explosions hit Yala in southern Thailand
One car found in Lee Gardens Plaza carpark had sustained very heavy damage, suggesting that explosives had been planted inside. Several cars in the carpark were damaged badly.
Lee Gardens Plaza is at the very heart of the tourist centre and because of its size and importance it would be a target. The busiest time - when insurgents would cause maximum disruption - is Saturday afternoon.
Lee Gardens and other department stores and supermarkets check cars entering their carparks. However, there is always a way through for people with bad intentions.

For tourists with trips planned to Hat Yai in the near future this will have an affect, but at the moment I'm not sure what the implications are.
McDonalds will be closed for a long time. I would expect that most other businesses in Lee Gardens will also be closed for a while until damage assessment and rebuilding has been carried out.

Hat Yai's economy relies heavily on tourists from Malaysia and Singapore. Plans had just been made to extend the Songkran holiday in order to attract more tourists. Yesterday's events will not help tourism and based on past problems, it will take a long time to restore confidence.

The chairman of the Songkhla Tourism Business Council says that 60% of hotel rooms have been cancelled. He is optimistic that it will take less than three months to restore confidence.

In my opinion if you are headed down there for Plastic Surgery, you should find a hotel that is 5-10mins walk from Lees Garden, just in case someone decides to do it again (you never know) and they will target the popular place. I will post some hotels as a recommendation if anyone is interested.

Good luck and stay safe :-|

ACCOMODATION

Post by krispy » Thu, 26 Apr 2012 2:02 pm

I came up with a list of places some of you can stay at if you are unsure where to go when you are in Hat Yai. You can get better discounts by going to Konsortium travel agency just next door to Lee's Garden:

Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel
Address: 29 Prachathipat Road, Hat Yai, Songkhla, 90110
Image
Telephone: +66 (0)74 261111
Web Site: www.leeplaza.com
E-mail: [email protected]
Rate: Superior (Double/Twin) Bt1,149, Junior Suite Bt1,390, Superior Suite Bt2,290, Extra Bed Bt490 - rates include breakfast.

"There is a good size outdoor swimming pool located high up which is available free to hotel guests and a gym which guests can pay to use. One slightly annoying thing about the hotel is that it is necessary to take multiple lifts to get up and down between ground level and the guest room floors. Security is quite good, requiring room cards to get access to the hotel corridors."

Lee Gardens Hotel
Address: 1 Lee Pattana Road, Hat Yai, Songkhla, 90110
Image
Telephone: +66 (0)74 234422
Rate: Small rooms Bt600, larger rooms Bt700

"Not to be confused with Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel. For less than Bt1,000 you get an average room in a mid-range hotel that has a bar and a restaurant."

Telephone: +66 (0)74 234110-12, +66 (0)74 223905-6
Mobile: +66 (0)83 195 9909
Rate: Bt600 (normal room), Bt800 (suite)

"The Green View is a standard mid-price range Hat Yai hotel located away from the central tourist district. However, the walk into town only takes about 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can hail a tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi. The cost should be Bt20 unless the driver tries to overcharge you, as they sometimes do with foreigners. You will often find motorbike taxis waiting just outside the hotel.

The hotel is very near to all the food vendors on Suphasarnrangsan Road so in the evening there are lots of eating options nearby without having to go into the town centre.

You do pay 200 baht as a deposit for the key to the room but refundable upon checking out. The hotel is situated on Sangsree Road yet even though the windows are not soundproofed but it wasn't at all loud during the night and as the bed was very comfortable, I had a good night sleep on the whole. The room itself was not new but very clean, you get 74 channels including TV 3 from Malaysia. 2 bottles of mineral water are provided and the bathroom itself has workable hot/cold standing shower facilities. If you need a flask for hot water, you can obtain them from the lobby. The hotel has free wifi with good signals throughout the whole of the place and they have 2 broadband modems on each floor."

Rate: Bt690

"This place looks ancient. The hotel business cards claim that all rooms have been renovated with new furniture, carpets, 20" TVs, and refrigerators. This hotel has big room and is clean, staff well. If you want to grand plaza, walk only 10 minute. Around kosit got many restaurant."

Image
Telephone: +66 (0)74 230000

"This is a typical Hat Yai hotel geared towards the weekly Malaysian tourist trade. It's near the centre of town, not too expensive and has what Malaysians want when they come to Hat Yai, including a snooker hall. It is a large hotel with 250 rooms, each room is equipped with air-conditioner and color TV."

President Hotel

Ten Malaysians injured during a bomb blast at Lee Gardens Hotel in Hat Yai, Thailand on Saturday are being treated for their wounds.

The following are a list of incidents tweeted by @Rawangpai:

On the afternoon of Saturday 31st March 2012, there was an explosion in the basement parking lot of Lee Garden Plaza in Hat Yai.
Initial reports said that it was caused by a gas explosion in a restaurant.
But, the latest news is that it was caused by a car bomb.
"Violence in the three southernmost provinces has become routine," says Davis, "but an attack at the heart of Hat Yai's tourist district on a Saturday afternoon was obviously intended to seize national and international attention and make a very brutal point: this is not 'business as usual'."

THIS IS WHAT IT USE TO LOOK LIKE WHEN I WAS THERE IN 2010

I DON'T MEAN TO SCARE ANYONE WITH THIS INFORMATION AND I KNOW AM OFF TOPIC BECAUSE THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT DR. PRINYA IN HATYAI
BUT I DECIDED TO POST RANDOM STUFF FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE CURIOUS AND FOR MYSELF TO LOOK BACK ON
WHEN I DO NEED THE DOCTORS INFO OR A PLACE TO STAY OR THE CONDITIONS AND STATE HATYAI IS IN RIGHT NOW.

If you have questions feel free to post it here or PM me.
Am NO expert but I was in HATYAI in 2010 and I did stay in BANGKOK, than traveled up to CHANGMAI, than entered LOAS stay a few days
and entered CAMBODIA from there visited PHNOM PENH a couple days and back to BANGKOK.
I wanted to have a good vacation, take pics and show people that I was a Tourist and NOT in Thailand for surgery

No one suspected a thing because I didn't mention having surgery, I had Lipo done and just said I trim down due to all that walking in the heat. 8-)

I love to travel.... Am planning another "Tourist Trip" sometime this year 2012.
Hopefully when it starts getting REAL hot in Thailand, the "Bad" people who cause problems for others
will be to hot, sweaty and lazy (due to heat) to try and plot something crazy. :-|

Krispy,

You really provide a lot of information and this will really help those who wanted to visit Hatyai for PS. BTW, I had pm you. Can you please reply to my PM? Thanks!!
Check your PM. And all this is information I have that I had saved for the past few years, I hope this will help whoever needs it and it will save them time when they do decide to have their surgery and come to HatYai.

Am going to post info about doctors in Bangkok as well, I have contacted so many. When I made my trip to Thailand I made a Diary and I wrote down EVERYTHING!

From how much money I had exchange to drinks, food I bought to how much I spent on things.... even wrote down when I use the bathroom how much I paid LOL I thought its funny you have to pay money to use the toilet.

Thailand is a foreign country to me so if there is issues like if I get sick or something unexpected happen I can trace back to the last thing I ate or did. Or if something bad happens (knock on wood) like I died, my Diary will tell the Authority where I went, who I made contact with... exactly what I did basically step by step to the minute.

I took so much pics as well. Crazy? No! Just don't want to be "Jane Doe" and I like to look back on my past experience. My life is a pretty good story book.

So on another note, I was reading this Forum on Thai Visa http://www.thaivisa.com.

This was the conversation:
Hi there, thanks for the reponse. I am trying to find out as much as I can but there is little to go on. I have also used singaporexpats forum but there are not alot of people who have experience with Dr Kunachak compared to for example as Dr Nara. I thought this would be the best place to ask
and the reply was:
Please do not take any offense to this but thats because most people on singaporeexpats are cheap they stay with low budge docs like Nara, Tokai pat, or even cheapest Hatyai. I mean come on, they want to go on a bus to Hatyai and get their liposuction done for like $400 jeeeez.
Umm yeah... :o I am one of "those" people who use Singapreexpats and I for one am NOT Cheap.
I just can't afford to pay high prices for the exact same surgery a doctor in HatYai can do.

Just becuz you pay more does not mean you are getting a better doctor. Your basically paying the "EXTRAS" for the Post-op care and the After-care.
If you compare the doctors in Thailand to the doctors in America. Every doctor in Thailand would be considered "Low Budget".

I don't think ANY doctor in Hat Yai is "low budget". They can afford to charge surgery at a lower price because they do their surgery in the clinic and the cost of equipment, office space is cheap because of the area they are performing surgery in.

Look at Dr Chi for example, when he is in Hat Yai his prices are similar to the doctors in Hat Yai. But if you go see him when he is working in Phuket, his prices are Phuket's rate. It has nothing to do with him being a low budget doctor.

For 1 liposuction in Bangkok, I had 3 Liposuction in Hat Yai.
It doesn't make me cheap, am just smart with my money ;)

So if you decide to have your surgery done in Hat Yai, expect the best surgery just don't expect the best after-care.

Go out and buy your own garments, ointment and bring a friend to care for you. The money your paying for surgery in Bangkok probably covers the cost of them renovating the place to look nice for appearances purpose or hire a bunch of useless nurses.

Remember "DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT's COVER".

Hi Krispy thanks for all the info you have provided. Appreciate this alot :) I'm new here, and I'm thinking of getting double eye lid, rhinoplasty and maybe alarplasty with Nara later this year but still a little fickle minded to whether if I should get rhinoplasty. Had read about the doctors in Hatyai on the other forum and some were quite happy after their surgeries but wondering how they are all doing now after so many years..
