What is the address to the Malaysian Forum, can someone PM me, just want to look around, since I will be staying in Johor bahru. I have been looking for a forum equivalent to this one.

When you are the best, there is no equivalent!

Strange, why would you want to visit a Malaysian forum equivalent of this one (this thread)? Learning Manglish?

To get information on Malaysia from people who live there since I will be staying there while looking for work in Singapore (because Singapore is too expensive).

Just happened to have this discussed with a French who probably had similar thoughts.

Since this is a Singlish thread, I wanted to share.
I just received a copy of my IR21 Acknowledgement for my tax clearance. This is a line item on the form:
“Amount of Monies Witheld Pending Tax Clearance”

Just to stir the pot, what's the difference between Singlish and Manglish?

Singlish shares substantial linguistic similarities with Malaysian English (Manglish) in Malaysia, although distinctions can be made, particularly in vocabulary. Manglish generally now receives more Malay influence and Singlish more Chinese (Mandarin, Hokkien, etc.) influence. In addition, Singlish has a set grammar and particular phonological and grammatical rules, whereas Manglish does not follow any grammatical rules, and is not mutually intelligible within different variants of Manglish, even disparate regions in Malaysia itself.

Manglish shares substantial linguistic similarities with Singlish in Singapore, although distinctions can be made, particularly in vocabulary.
Initially, "Singlish" and "Manglish" were essentially the same language, when Singapore and Malaysia were a single geographic entity: Malaya. In old Malaya, English was the language of the British administration whilst Malay was spoken as the lingua franca of the street. Thus, even the Chinese would revert to Malay when speaking to Chinese people who did not speak the same Chinese dialect.
