sailing courses

Post by macaroonie » Mon, 19 Mar 2012 9:41 pm

Does anyone recommend/ever tried any local sailing courses? The ones i found online requires membership at the sailing club, which is hideously expensive! Thanks!

Define "hideously"? :P Changi sailing club is 1/3rd the price of the Singapore Yacht club. Yeah I know, it's still ridiculous...

This one looks pretty budget:

Here are non-membership based courses:

You don't need to take up the membership at Mana Mana as it just gives you a 15% of rental and courses and food. I'm down there quite often as got a mate who owns a Hobie 18 which keeps there.

Well then, Changi is only $5k +75/month! hehe

Go with Mana Mana, or one of the non-clubs.

Haha mate, sailing is considered as a 'elite' activity in many societies especially in Singapore so the price would be elite as well!

What about just sailing trips? Like a whole group of people going sailing around the place and we just tag along for a fee? Let's see if i can handle the turbulent waves first before undertaking regular classes at exorbitant prices! But thanks for the reminder, i guess it is an elite sport.
