Steak Houses or Stalls in Singapore

Post by BillyB » Fri, 03 Sep 2010 3:31 pm

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a good steak house or outlet / stall. I know of one called Botak Jones near Somerset, but any others - ideally serving Tenderloin / Fillet.

If anyone has been to KL and to Suzie's corner - thats exactly what I am looking for!!!!

Thanks in advance.

There's Jack's special from Jack's place.
Another famous steak chainhouse is Astons. They have a few outlets. There's one in cetrepoint.

Yeah I know. But I thought that sounded better than "he's always like that!"

People always say that Lawry's is the place to go for steak here but it's supposed to be really expensive (like $300+ for 2 people!!!). I have also heard recently that Black Angus and Aston's are good (and probably much cheaper than Lawry's) but I'm not much of a steak connoisseur I'm afraid as I've had so many tough steaks over the years that it's put me off ordering it, especially in Singapore where it costs so much.

If you find a good place though I'd love to hear about it

Have yet to find a decent one here, alot of people said Morton was the place to go, it was so bad we sent it back, the meat was not aged.

Found the only way to get really decent steak is go to the swiss or huber butcher and get a lump and cook it yourself. Make sure you ask for the good stuff (they always keep it at the back.)

I've always enjoyed eating at Grill Out on Sunset Rd.

Had a very acceptable steak at the Culina shop/bistro on Dempsy hill, the nice thing is you can go to the meat counter and choose your lump.

Hotel M in Anson Road has a decent steak actually. In their first floor hotel restaurant.
