Kindle books through amazon.co.uk

Post by Fobyac » Sun, 10 Jul 2011 10:20 am

Hi,
I have the kindle app on my ipad and bought my books through amazon.co.uk store. Mostly thrillers/fiction like lee child
Since last week they reject my purchases and redirect me to t singapore site of amazon.com which has limit or no books in store.

How can i buy my books again through t uk store or other alternative.
I read some about vpn and tried but still recognized Singapore as my country

Thanks

If you buy a kindle in the UK, you buy the books from amazon.co.uk.
If you buy one in any other country you buy the books from amazon.com.

I don't know about the iPad app, but there is no such thing as Amazon Singapore. So your facts don't seem to stack up!

Yes they do...

More and more people keep their account/ manage to open an account in a country that has a nice kindle store...

and keep using it in countries where kindle store are thin to non-existent..

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

By Kindle store you mean Amazon?

Are you saying there is a Amazon.com.sg now?

p.s. To the OP.

You can actually create an account with vpost, they will give you a 'US' address. Use that address and change your location to US on amazon, that way, you can get the ebooks you've always wanted. I even had to do that to get the kindle app on my iPhone.

Does a Kindle 3G (UK version) works (Internet function) in Singapore?

I am not sure if there is a separate amazon singapore you are claiming to be. I have not tried it yet as I still purchase directly through Amazon.com.

Though it may not be that successful, I think that it will be best for those in SG to have a separate network for kindle books here.
