It clearly shows Malaysian Chinese is not subjected to recent tightening criteria of PR application.
During the "Talking Point" TV program at CNA on Sun, the MP (a former Director, National Population Secretariat) stated PR intake is tightened, but not new citizenship which still maintained at 18000 successful intake annually.

What they didn't say was while citizenship is still the same numerically, it HAS changed demographically. That's why it's still very easy to gain citizenship if you are a Malaysian or Indonesian Chinese.

Just to share, i got my PR approved too...

Apply in 1st wk of june 2011, approved in 1st wk of Sept. Btw, this is my 3rd application (1st rejected then appeal also got rejected)

I'm malaysian female aged 30, married to SPR (also malaysian) and my husband is my sponsor. Guess apply through family scheme is much easier.

Good luck!
I'm a bit behind on this thread, but anyway congratulations on your PR :)

I was interested to read about your application process, and how you went through two refusals before being approved in such a short space of time.

Out of interest, had you changed any of your submitted personal data in your approved application that was not in the earlier ones? Or do you feel it was more a case of demonstrating sheer determination to get it on your part, via your appeal and second application?

(I ask as I am curious what it takes to 'swing' an appeal in SG, and it might be of interest to others.)

Even my EP application was rejected while I met all the basic requirements -.-a , my other indonesian friend is even got his s-pass rejected when he got offer from another company and has to left Singapore..

My wife is a PRC chinese who is holding a bachelor degree in one of the top 3 universities in China, currently working as a manager in bank, and I am a malaysian PR who have been staying in Singapore for the past 15 years. She applied for PR last year in September, but her application is still pending after more than 11 months... Why is it so....

You better put other relevant information. For now, it seems that Malaysian Chinese is the ICA's flavor of the month.

If they can't get rid of the Indians they gonna keep bringing in Malaysian Chinese until the demographic percentages are back where they were before the IT revolution. :-k
