Need advice- SPR Application

I had applied SPR on the mid Apr 2011 and till date the online status still states "pending"

Both me and my wife are malaysian been working in singapore for more than 10 years. Both of us are work permit holder and we are at our early 30s. Both of us have SPM qualification.

After working for a decades in singapore, I am finally upgraded to a more executive role in the company and was given S Pass in Jan 2011. My basic pay is $2.6k My wife is working as a clerk drawing a monthly basic pay of $1.9k.

I had our application submitted and currently waiting for the status as we met the ICA min requirement which is "S" pass.

I hope ICA can award SPR to me and my wife as we had been working in singapore for more than 10 yrs.

I am now getting very anxious as its been more 5 months.

Any experience bros/sis can advice me on my possibility of getting SPR.

I am starting to get worried and wondering if salary is one of the major factor in SPR approval as I did met the requirement stated by them and more over both of us are currently employed in singapore.

No one really knows the real criteria but them. This is so they could make a decision without anyone contesting it if they don't like it. There's really no practical thing you can do about it except wait and accept their decision.

Just dont get more anxious. They may also consider that you are in SG as a family for 10 years. So that might be a positive for you.

Do you hav kids?
Include kid(boy) in application too, that will improve your chances, with 2nd generation PR to serve NS, hence contributing to govt.
Alternatively, do you contribute as volunteer in the community?

I have add in my baby gal which is less than 1 yr old in the application.

If you are Chinese this would help. Don't complain how long it takes - the fact that you were not immediately rejected is a good sign.
Be aware that the political climate is very bad at the moment so prepare for a failure but not abandon your hopes.

Yes, both me and my wife are Chinese and hope we are give a chance.

Although we have no high qualification nor earn high income, at least we want to stay here for long and have intention to give up our citizenship for SG citizenship status.

Personally I think you will both get it, providing there are no errors on the application, Malay Chinese stand a much better chance than others from Malaysia.

You speak Chinese too, can drive send me your CV just in case! You have been lucky to get the S pass, I know many from Malaysia that have had S pass rejected on the renewal since last year and it wasn't because of earnings.

Though we are always interested in stable workforce so your CV may come in handy one day.

Even wife sponsoring husband for PR is ok as long as the wife is able to support the applicant (husband) financially.

Since, you have got married in may 2011 (recently) may be you should try applying for his PR after 1.5 -2 years after your marriage?

Thanks a mil for ur reply.

According to what u've said, my salary need to be able to support him financially,
does it mean that my salary have to be higher than him?
if so, then i guess i do not qualify=(

on another note, i have heard that we can seek help from our MP. But im
not sure if i should seek help before we apply or should we try our luck 1st
then if we got rejected, we can then ask for help from our MP? Because i
heard that if we got rejected, we need to wait for 2 years before we can
apply again. i really want to buy a flat with my husband and set up a
family by next year=(
