Security warning--what to do??

Post by Matney » Thu, 28 Apr 2005 11:24 am

Open File-Security Warning

This publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?
Name: promsg.exe
Publisher: Unknown publisher
Type: A
From: C\WINDOWS\system 32

Can anyone help with this message? We have Adaware and Spybot, but after they finish and I restart it is still there. The red X in the top right corner gets it off so I can continue, but if I hit cancel it doesn't do anything.

Please take me through step by step to do whatever I need to do. Thanks

Search here, or post your question here... a lot of information of getting hijacked by malware.

Have you tried simply deleting the program?

Adaware and Spybot are not enough. Run an antivirus checker.
