Hate to be the bearer of bade tidings, but all the major government databases ARE now linked and if there IS an outstanding warrant and has been flagged, they WILL be picked up. In fact, they are picking up quite of few maids, and prostitutes already using a facial recognition software create here in Singapore, even though they have gotten new passports with different names. Recently a transfer of technology was exchanged between Australia & Singapore regarding the linkages and the recognition softwares. And yes, I am the scary troll as I know some people that were involved in the initial consolidation & linkage over the past 4 or 5 years. Further to that, it was also in the papers around a year or 1.5 years ago about the ongoing successes with the linking up of the 5 or 7 major government databases. How do you think they pick up NS evaders?boffenl wrote:Wow technocity--this is a load of crap! Plenty of people have SG court summons and outstanding debts and travel frequently to and from Singapore.
Are you the scary troll under the bridge? To the original poster--you won't have any trouble getting back into SG, but you may have trouble getting another contract, especially with the original provider.
Well, there are telecom legal notices leading to court action, costing 2,000 $ to recover a 500 $ due .. and with a court action comes "Bankruptcy" and that is - more than complicating and gets into all records ..boffenl wrote:No problem setting me straight.
BUT, have you seen a warrant served for outstanding telecom bills? or even credit card bills? I don't think they "care" so much about this kind of crime--

I just don't think Singapore is there yet when it comes to debts owed to telecoms.
