Seeking Good and Inexpensive Dental Services

Post by Non-Perfect Perfectionist » Sun, 24 Jul 2011 8:08 pm

Looking to get BRACES done.

Can someone please recommend me to a good and inexpensive dental clinic?
(could be in Singapore or Jb, preferably in Singapore cos I don't drive)

Would really appreciate! :D

Try NUH or SingHealth dental clinics--best prices in town. :)

Hi Hi boffenl~ First of all, thank you for responding to my post~ :) :)

The personnel from SingHealth Dental actually suggested me to go elsewhere when I called them up, as they are fully booked all the way till end of next year!!
He said it's very hard to get an appointment there and the prices have gone up. Singhealth's no longer 100% "public". :?

It's after hearing that suggestion and information that I started this post.

I will try call up NUH and find out more. Thank you once again!! :D

As someone who wore braces for four years*, what you need, specifically, is an orthodontist. And don't just settle for cheap; shop around for prices and reputation. Do some research to familiarize yourself with the procedures so you'd know if you're just being taken for a fool and being made to pay for things you don't need or want. Bad orthodontic treatment CAN make things worse and not just in terms of appearances.

* I needed TMJ treatment, lest my jaw fall off.

Hi Nakatago,

Thank you for advise. Could you please share more of your experiences on braces? And what is TMJ?

Lots of people have different experiences and lots of new technologies have come to use. I had mine in my home country and from what I understand, they do certain things quite differently here so you may have to more research. Your treatment will also depend on your individual facial/bone/teeth structure.

Several things that you should note:

* if the orthodontist tells you that you need some teeth extracted, it will have to be your wisdom teeth or your most extreme molars. if he/she tells you it's the other teeth for reasons other than your immediate health, find another orthodontist.

* always ask for options/explanations. if he/she can't explain things to you or just wants you to "just accept things as they are," find another orthodontist.

* Research, research, research!

Yes Nakatago san~ Research! Reseach! Research! :D

That's also why I started this post before I blindly accepted any dental. :)

I'd keep in mind the points you've stated when i make my visits to gather opinions. :)

Once again, thank you for sharing! :D
