Applied for PR in January 2011

Post by Abhipan » Mon, 18 Jul 2011 5:44 pm

Hi I am an indian with PR here and applied for my wife's PR on 3rd january 2011
She came to Singapore in December 2009 after we got married.
She is not working at the moment. I have been in Singapore since 2001 and have PR since last five+ years. We don't have any kids and I work as a Development Manager in an IT firm.
It's been a long time since we applied for PR and there has been no response from ICA. We changed our residence in May this year but haven't informed ICA about that. Is it required to report a change of address? Also what are the chances of PR approval? Lastly is there any way to check the status of our application?
Thank you.

Yep, this one defo has masters.

Q: Do you need to inform ICA of a change of address?
A: Isn't the answer to this really really obvious? As you're a PR, you're breaking the law by not doing so, how can you not know this? (did you read any of the details about PR before you applied for it?)

Q: What are the chances of approval?
A: Not very good, for reasons which would be obvious if you read this forum

Q: How to check the status of the application?
A: They would have given you these details when you applied, it can be done online. Did you read any of the documentation that they gave you before you came on here?
I HAVE MASTERS!

Of course I got the change of add on my Nric
But haven't gone to officially tell, fax, email them concerning change of address regarding PR application.

The reason I ask for a way to check status is cause we were not given any info regarding application status.

No news is good news. Although there is no guarantee that a long delay means approval. I have come across cases where people have been rejected in 2 months flat and some who are rejected after waiting more than a year, in the same period.

So keep hangin' in there!

You can change the residence address by going to ICA website. It is easy to do. Looking at your biodata, may I know how much are you drawing at this moment?
Are you on the second term REP PR status or yours is a 10 year validity ?
