So you think your English is up to snuff?

Maybe our "Turkey" on the other thread should take this exam from Jobstreet.

In fact, maybe all from non-English speaking countries should take it. Before asserting themselves on this board.

I took the practice one and got the following but the single one I missed I knew was probable as there were actually two correct answers (probably written by a local English teacher).

My result:
Total Questions Attempted: 40
Total Questions Correct: 39 (Conversational:10; Vocabulary:10; Grammar:10; Comprehension:9)

I got only 38! I missed one conversational (but the responses all made me lol, there were several responses I might have said just to be cheeky) and one comprehension. I noticed one of the comprehension questions didn't make logical sense...the one about the football match? I guess that's the one I got wrong. They should show the correct answers on the result. Interesting quiz anyway.

Don't know which I got wrong, but some of 'em really were down to nuance (in my humble opinion!). But then again, I suppose that is the point!

Yes some of it was most amusing. I would not have thought replying 'No worries' to a question was viable for an English test. But that was the best of a bad lot on that particular question!

I'm actually much more fascinated (or rather, amused) by the statistics that appeared at the bottom of the results :P
