Perhaps when you wrote:

'I've looked at easily 100 places in Singapore over the years, never came across one that said 'no cats'.'

You might have added 'but they were all condos'?

Otherwise there is a risk it might have formed the idea in the OPs mind that she can move to SG with her cats and face negligible issues finding any kind of 'nice accomodation'.

p.s. I find your style blunt to the extreme. Plus I think you take yourself way too seriously. But there you go, it's the www so we're just going to have to rub along aren't we? I thought I should be candid as we seem to be having a sharing moment this pm...

They weren't all condos, so it would make no sense to add such a caveat.

Blunt? I can live with blunt. In the course of 24 hours I've been maligned for being a lefty liberal, compared to a tai tai and a mocked as a rich dilettante, did I cover them all? I am none of those things. Perhaps you should take your offhand remarks a little more seriously before you start labeling people all over the 'www'? Oh ya, let me add my least favorite of all emoticons: :P Mr. Razz the Standard Bearer of the Heckler. Lovely.

But they were not HDB were they, and knowing my point you're playing semantics? In which any couple on less than $2k housing allowance/expense will have an issue, and suggesting 'anything goes' is perhaps a little reckless and misleading?

Well I'm sorry I can't help how you present yourself and what others say to you. Perhaps if you managed to use more than eight words in a post people might have a clearer handle on your philosophy.

Who is pigeon-holing who?

'I moved my big Lab from the US to Singapore then back to the US, then back to Singapore. He was a calm, well-adjusted dog, and for him it was no problem. For one of the short haul flights, he flew in the cabin of a private chartered jet, and he didn't love it, but he put on a brave face.

Housing with a tiny, postage stamp-sized yard will start at $10K/month.

I work my schedule around walking them when it is the coolest, we rent a place with a pool so he can swim, I plan weekly play dates. In the next few months I'll decide whether to stay in Singapore based on being able to rent the right place for all the pets. Sounds crazy, but if they're not content, the whole thing unravels.

Errr.... somehow I think you're going to have a tricky case persuading the Mods that use of an Emoticon on this site, is somehow in breach of the T&Cs of this site.

You've missed the point entirely JR8, of not only this thread but the one you quoted.

Let's leave it at agreeing to disagree. Have a good night.

Course I have, but that's because I'm in the 'idiot-majority' that vote Republican (or equiv.)

Onwards and upwards hey. Another day? :)

Glad to see that you can identify with the idiot majority... only it's only a majority in the House... with the Tea Party yahoos setting the stage for a Dem comeback. Otherwise, Republiclowns are in the minority and going to be that way for a long time.

'Course, if you really think the idiot majority is coming back, happy to make a $500 bet with you that Obama will win a second term. How about it? SMS can hold the cash. You've got Pubey candidates galore... you know... Palin, Gingrich, Trump... the deep thinkers... complemented by Mike (Barney Fife) Huckabee, and a cast of pandering whores.

What say ye, mate? A simple $500, bet today/tomorrow, held by an individual of at least reasonable merit, for Nov 12 election.

Oh easy now :) . It is you that must accept that you in the minority, the loony fringe, and who’s view are contrary to popular opinion :). And why are your views contrary to popular opinion? Is it because Democrats are so enlightened and yet misunderstood, or do they just have have crap policies that people don't want?

Jeez I’m not even a yank but I have to enjoy the Dem posturing, not least because it is so extreme. ‘You either vote Obama or you’re a Tea-Party idiot jackass' - Apparently lol.

Personally my life experience tells me that socialism fails. And that socialist politicians are only in it to control the little people and take power via exploiting them.

I once betted a yank colleague c. $100k (a property) that I could neck a pint faster than him. He declined, shame as I’d have won. I’m less ready to take wagers these days though, I don’t bet unless I know I’ll win. Why gamble when you’ve already got all the chips - hard won though a republican ethos?

Obama a deep thinker? As Trump so astutely put it, the only smart thing about that glove puppet was his campaign. Without auto-cue the guy can hardly talk. But if you rally to tokens, who have achieved nothing, nominated for a Nobel after 9 days in office, flip-flop and dither in the wind then so be it.

BO win re-election? Yeah maybe he will, as there seems little in solid opposition, and as suggested many people vote for image over ideas at all costs.

p.s. Like I said before just a default ‘GOP are idiots’ stance is... just hackneyed and most lame. Especially when it comes from the minority vs the majority :)
