I don't think SMS is actually disputing the process here...he's just pointing out that there's a dissonance between the mullah's reason for allowing civet coffee and the consumer's reason for drinking it.

Does anybody actually know of a place that serves kopi luwak by the cup? I have a friend coming to visit and we're keen to try it, but I'm not sure I want to invest a large amount of money into beans...maybe if it really is as good as they say...

Found this on the Makansutra "lor sor forum" site:
cafe outside Uniqlo @ 313@somerset sells coffee luwak. $26 per cup.

Great Coffee in Singapore

Post by marcl » Fri, 14 Jan 2011 2:35 pm

My Favorite Coffee Places:

Espressoul
www.espressoul.com
25 North Bridge Road
Also do really good sandwiches for those times you dont feel like rice or noodles for lunch.

Oriole - Somerset
http://www.oriole.com.sg/
Unfortunately they open too late to get coffee before work!

Kith - Robertson Quay
www.kith.com.sg

Lets keep the list going...

Marc

P.S. Looking to buy an espresso machine for home. Anyone know where to go in Singapore for this?

Is that location better than other Tangs outlets (ie at Vivo City)?

Don't know as I've never been there (CK Tangs). Too lazy to walk that far from the MRT station. It's just across the underpass at Orchard.
