Cachaca, or any other premium alc for that matter. Buy where

Post by obm1 » Mon, 17 May 2010 4:22 pm

Does anyone know of a WELL stocked liquor store in Singapore? I'm not talking about the flimsy selection in every supermarket, nor the address for any one of the 5.2 billion wine stores. Simply ONE address in town where I can get premium spirits like Brazilian Sugar Cane Rum or Cachaca, the main ingredient in Caipirinas...

Obrigado

Betcha if'n you called the Brazilian embassy they would know where to find it, if it's available here.

There is a place in Little India, on Serangoon, right hand side, that sells electronics and a decent selection of hooch. Will try to order what you want as well... they picked up the scotch I wanted. Best prices in town.

Next door to it is a bottle store, somewhat more expensive but a larger stock. However, they make no effort to find non stocked items for you.

Both of these shops are on the block just before the turn to Mustafa's. Look for a big 'Old Grouse' bottle as a sign.

I've also had decent luck at Carrefour... a reasonable selection... able to find triple sec for good margaritas.

I order my alcohol online - google Millie's. They have a shop in Changi. I think I came across Cachaca there once. DFS stock them once a while.

Looks like Ms Cassino needs to check the pricing: $100 for a 50ml bottle of Absolut Pear?????!!!!! Is that what she's using for the entrance fee to MBS?

Or a pepar? http://www.eurohitechsystem.com.sg/ware ... ID=AMB0010

Only one bottle every 48 hours and none if coming in from KL, although that can usually be rectified.

I just realized it. What if I'm flying in from somewhere but via KL?

Bummer for booze... :(

Last time I compared, the duty free for alcohol at Changi was more expensive then the duty free of wherever I was coming from at the time.
