Christmas Buffet
Can anyone recommend a Hotel for Christmas Lunch? Child friendly preferably.
They're all pretty child friendly on Christmas day and most will have a visit from Santa at some point.
We went to the Intercontinental for Brunch one year and it was fairly enjoyable, a bit crowded and we were in a bit of a rubbish spot (on a table stuck behind a pillar!), but we still had a good time and the kids had fun as they have a children's room downstairs (not far from the main event) with games and their own buffet (junk food!) - whether or not your children will want to go down there depends on their age I expect but it is supervised and the staff bring them up to you if they want to come and sit with you and of course there is no obligation for them to go down there - they could just sit upstairs if that's what they prefer.
Another year we went to the Town restaurant at the Fullerton for the evening meal and that was great but sadly their prices are through the roof these days so we won't be going there this year. As the evening meal was good, I would expect the lunch to be top notch.
The worst one we've been to was the Greenhouse at the Ritz Carlton - very boring, no free drinks (even soft drinks) and apart from Turkey, not really a festive menu either so I wouldn't recommend them (although again this was evening, I'm not sure what the lunch is like).
I've also been to the Four Seasons for Christmas lunch in the run-up to Christmas and that was quite nice, so their Christmas Day one is probably very good.
